Photography is a medium to react in the most sensitive way to the changes in the world surrounding us. It is still more like a hybrid creature which is dependent on market, social and cultural changes. It is impossible to represent the visual language of the 21st century exclusively in the knowledge of traditional photographic genres. The training programme aims to meet contemporary challenges by offering in-depth and complex visual, photo-theoretical, cultural historical and up-to-date medial skills and knowledge, preserving a critical approach to media applications. Beyond high quality training, it is our objective to develop an interactive training model and workshop to help students obtain interdisciplinary skills and fulfill their artistic amibitions. Our programme provides students with sufficient knowledge for a long-term artistic and research career, or even a teaching career in higher education institutions. Visual art graduates are capable of handling the various photographic genres and media surfaces not merely as an issue of imaging but they think in terms of communication and information structures. They are competent in building bridges above the different competences and managing artistic teams as participants in market, research or art projects. During their studies students have the opportunity to meet prominent national and international artists. Beyond all this, the aim of the training is to increase the reputation of Hungarian visual and photographic culture in Hungary and abroad. The MA programme also prepares students for doctoral level studies.
